So Cal Peak Hike #2 was Mount San Antonio, better known as Mt. Baldy. Hard to believe there is a 10,000 ft. peak just an hour outside of Los Angeles. What a treasure!
I convinced some friends to hike the 6.4 miles with an elevation gain of over 3,000 ft. (We took the ski lift up and down to cut the full 10-11 mile hike in half.) It took us over 5 hours to hike the 6.4 miles, and we were VERY grateful to see that ski lift at the end of a long day!
The hike was strenuous, steep, and long. But the views were incredible. We hiked the “Devil’s Backbone” trail which is about a 4-foot path along the ridges of the mountain range. Can’t beat the views from the top!
I was also super excited to try out my new backpack, the Deuter Futura 45+10 SL. It was amazing! Comfortable even after 6 hours! I can’t wait to take it overseas.
The summit at 10,064 ft!
We hiked it!
May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.
May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.
