So Cal Peak Hike #2 was Mount San Antonio, better known as Mt. Baldy. Hard to believe there is a 10,000 ft. peak just an hour outside of Los Angeles. What a treasure!

DCIM104GOPROI convinced some friends to hike the 6.4 miles with an elevation gain of over 3,000 ft. (We took the ski lift up and down to cut the full 10-11 mile hike in half.) It took us over 5 hours to hike the 6.4 miles, and we were VERY grateful to see that ski lift at the end of a long day!

DCIM104GOPROThe hike was strenuous, steep, and long. But the views were incredible. We hiked the “Devil’s Backbone” trail which is about a 4-foot path along the ridges of the mountain range. Can’t beat the views from the top!

I was also super excited to try out my new backpack, the Deuter Futura 45+10 SL. It was amazing! Comfortable even after 6 hours! I can’t wait to take it overseas.

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.
May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.
